ROB DOUGLAS,

Rob Douglas is KeNako’s resident chef.  He is a young man with a passion for food, which started when he visited the Isle of Man soon after leaving school and worked in a bakery.  From the bakery he moved onto a bistro pub, which allowed Rob to attend a catering and hospitality course through the Isle of Man College.
Rob moved to a job with Macdonalds Hotels in England where he became the head banqueting chef and thereafter the head sauce chef.  After spending 5 years in the United Kingdom, Rob decided that the time had come to return home to South Africa.

Over the years Rob has completed several courses:
• Food & Hygiene at the Isle of Man College
• Third Force UK’s Health and Safety
• Third Force UK’s Food and Preparation
• Third Force UK’s E Learning Course
• Catering and Hospitality at Sivananda Fet College in Durban
• Wallace Cameron First Aid Course

Rob’s passion for food and cooking grows by the day.  He is forever experimenting and learning something new.  But he also recognises that circumstances sometimes dictate what can be achieved or done, hence his life motto “if life serves you lemons make lemonades”!
Rob is a team player and he is excited to be a part of the vibrant team of professionals working at KeNako Academy.
