Congratulations to the following KeNako students on their selection to the provincial teams which competed in the annual Under 17 and Under 19 Hexangular Inter Provincial. Aidan and Caylum Boon, Reinhardt Claassen, Jabulane Mabilane, Franklin Manchest, Cameron Moralee, Johan Oosthuizen, James Pennington and Garen Niemand were selected to play for the Southern Cape Teams. Reinhardt and Garen could unfortunately not play but did earn their selection. Malcolm Flanegan represented the Free State and Northern Cape while Hayden Garcia represented Western Province.

The tournament was hosted by the Border Golf Union at the picturesque West Bank Golf Club which proved to be a very good challenge. Winds of between 30 and 45 km’s per hour each day and firm greens had the players scratching their heads over the three days but the boys did very well. The Under 19 team almost pulled off a win, losing out to Boland by a point on the last day and the Under 17 Team finished 4th out of 6 teams – credible performances from two very young teams.

Roger was quite impressed how the KeNako students successfully finished a few matches because of their fitness levels and learned mental skills, the KeNako program is certainly making a positive contribution to the students performances.

Well done to all the players.
