DR Herman van Rooyen

 

Dr Herman van Rooyen qualified at the University of Orange Free State and obtained the degree MBChB in 1986. He worked in private practice in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal for 17 years where he managed a general practice. It was during this time that Dr van Rooyen developed a keen interest in Sports Injuries and Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment of Sports Injuries, as well as Neuro-Rehabilitation.

 

Dr Van Rooyen worked in New Zealand in 1997, where he qualified as a Sports Injury Therapist with the American Medical Association. During his stay in New Zealand Dr van Rooyen worked at both the Asthma and Allergic Rhinitis Clinic and the Sports Medicine Clinic in Palmerston North. Since 2005 Dr van Rooyen has been the Senior Physician with Carnival UK managing medical centres on cruise ships for Princess, Cunard, P&O UK and P&O Australia.

 

Dr van Rooyen is now full-time based at KeNako Sports Academy where he is practicing as Sport Clinician (injury, rehabilitation and conditioning), as well as managing the NEUROCARE Executive Stress Recovery Unit. Dr van Rooyen has been one of the driving forces behind the development of KeNako Executive. Dr van Rooyen has a private practice at the KeNako Suites and is able to see outside patients in addition to his work within the academy.
