SCHOLTZ AND LIM HOLD ON TO THE END
Armandt Scholtz and Claudia Lim, the overnight leaders in the Boys and Girls Competitions respectively, held onto to win the 54 hole inaugural KeNako South African World Juniors on Thursday. The former winning handsomely in the end, by four shots, with six under par aggregate, and the jovial Australian finishing two shots clear in the Girls Competition, on 221, five over par.The tournament which is sanctioned by the World Junior Golf Series, was played at the superbly prepared Kingswood Golf Estate, George. The weather played a large role in providing difficult playing conditions. First play was suspended for forty five minutes before a single shot was sunk. Then a light cold breeze and drizzle followed the morning field. It warmed up and the win abated only to return late in the afternoon with a driving light rain. “It was tough in the rain while the breeze on the front nine made for tough playing conditions,” said the eighteen year old Paarl Golf Club winner.Read more

SCHOLTZ AND LIM LEAD GOING INTO THE FINAL ROUND
Armandt Scholtz and Claudia Lim lead the Boys and Girls Competitions respectively going into Thursday’s final round of the 54 hole inaugural KeNako South African World Juniors being played at Kingswood Golf Estate, George.
Scholtz recorded a respectable three under par 69 for his second round on Wednesday which gave him a 36 hole total of 141, also three under par. He has a one stroke lead over a field of eighty three junior boys participating, all aged nineteen or younger and from nineteen different countries.Read more

VINCENT AND LOMBARD LEAD
Zimbabwean Scott Vincent and South African Zander Lombard were the only players to break seventy on a difficult day for good scoring in the first round KeNako South African World Juniors being played at Kingswood Golf Estate.
This is the first World Junior Golf Series tournament to be staged in South Africa With very hot and humid conditions prevailing most of the day, and with gusting winds towards midday, along with a superbly prepared testing layout all combined to make things difficult for the one hundred and thirteen players from nineteen countries.Read more

HOT HUMID CONDITIONS MAKE IT TOUGH GOING
Very hot and humid conditions made the first round tough going for participants in the KeNako South African World Juniors at Kingswood Golf Estate in the Southern Cape town of George.
Half the field of one hundred and thirteen players played this morning in near windless but very Durban-like weather which made good scoring difficult. Only three boys managed to break par. Leading the Boys competition, which is a 54 hole Stroke Play tournament, is eighteen year old Zimbabwean Scott Vincent. He fired at three under par 69 to take a one shot lead over Adrian Meronk of Poland.Read more
KeNako S.A. World Juniors Am-Am a Spectacular Success
The Am-Am played at Kingswood Golf Estate on Sunday 6th March was very well received, both by the junior players and by the many guests who took the time to join KeNako on this special day. The format was a Fourball Alliance and every team of four included a junior golfer. Included in the field were juniors, both boys and girls, from several countries including some of South Africa’s top junior players. Executives from as far afield as Johannesburg, Nelspruit and Cape Town travelled to George to play in the Am-Am with the junior golfers.Read more

Opening World Juniors Banquet a Hit
Players from around the world were introduced to their peers and guests at the Opening Banquet held in the Regency Room at the Protea Hotel in George last night. 20 Different country flags flew proudly in the centre of the room which was fully booked with players, guests and VIP dignitaries. The hall was beautifully decorated with an international theme.Read more

HUGE LEAP FOR DANIEL
Knysna Golf Club hosted the second Southern Cape Junior Foundation event of the year last week, great to see their new clubhouse is almost completed after fire destroyed it a few years ago. The course is a wonderful old style golf course – not very long but accuracy off the tee a necessity because the greens are small and the pins are not easily accessible coming out the rough.Read more
TWENTY COUNTRIES REPRESENTED IN KENAKO SA WORLD JUNIORS
Players from twenty countries, including South Africa, have entered the KeNako South African World Juniors, according to Erica Lefson, the Tournament Director.The 54 hole stroke play tournament, which is to be played from 8 to 10 March 2011 at Kingswood Golf Estate in George, has attracted entries from eighty five boys and thirty girls all of whom are nineteen years of age or younger. The KeNako SA Junior Masters is to be played for the first time at Kingswood Golf Estate from 8th to 10th March 2011. The event is an official junior ‘Major’ tournament, recognised and sanctioned by the World Junior Golf Series. There are separate boys and girls divisions played at the same time, with the tournament also including a country team competition with the scores of two boys and one girl counting towards the overall team trophy. The tournament is open to players 19 years and younger (born 1992 and later).Read more
